Process Paper Why we chose this topic At the begining of our seventh grade year, we were introduced to the Crusades.we were facinated by the causes and the motives behind the war. Since we only learned the basics, we felt like there was more that needed to be seen. There can be multiple perspectives about the Crusades, so we deciede that we wanted to look into it ourselves. Essentially, we chose to reasearch the Crusades because of curiosity and our need to widen our horizons to historical, yet life-changing events. How we canducted our research To begin with, we searched the internet at our school's computer lab to find the basic facts on the Crusades. After a few hours of conducting research,we went to the public library to get four incredibaly helpful books. Since there was so much useful information on this topic, we decided to select the most important facts and construct an outline for our website. Our next step was to find a primary source. To do so, we found companies like Cal Cot and the California State University of Bakersfield to ask some questions on the impacts caused by the Crusades. All our research helped us understand the impacting effects of the Crusades and to strengthen our outline. As as we felt confident with our information, we decided to draw an outline and incorporate our ideas into our websites. How we created and developed our website To get our website, we first made an account on Weebly.com. Then, we drew an outline with all the topics that we wanted to include inside our website. After we had our ideas down on paper, we began to write the actual paragraphs of information. Our next step was to post our website onto the web page. When we had all of the information posted, we added pictures and decorated our website. Then we revised all of the mistakes one last time, just in case we had missed something before. When we finally felt satisfied with all of our work, we published our new and improved website. After all, the hard work did pay off, for we ended up with an awesome website. How our project relates to the theme Our project relates to the theme,"Turning Points in History",in a multitude of ways. The concentration of our project directed towards the Crusades-- a war, yet a life-changing event-- a war that changed the face of the Earth. It also caused major changes in daily life. The Crusades began a series of astounding new things to be introduced in the world. Thus, they helped the world develop to it's full potential. If the Crusades had not taken place, the world wouldn't have had the technology or ideas that we have today. There would be a large amount of uneduated people, which would lead to a bad social structure and terrible business world.
